Amy lives in “Hopeville”, a tent community right by the Arch in downtown St Louis.

Amy says what’s keeping her there is her eyesight and not having glasses to work.

Tent communities can be very complex. Amy describes some of the history and structure.

I visited Hopeville this past summer and I cannot imagine what it must be like in a Missouri winter. According to a recent story in St Louis Dispatch they are not going anywhere soon.

We are passionate about this. that is why Pastor Rick Williams and the CICAN family bought a bus to go around the city and give shelter to people from the streets out of the cold. we love, give clothing and food to our brothers and sisters. Look for us diving around the City of Charlotte at night doing what we do

Don’t know if this helps but this site has very affordable glasses. You just need a mailing address to have it sent to. I don’t have insurance so I went here for glasses. If your went with their highest index lens, it’d probably be no more than $150. Which is easier to obtain than $300. Good luck Amy!
